Survey types available
Cxoice is a powerful, extendable system suitable for many different survey types and survey type allows you to easily switch between the different types available. The precise set of options you will see depend on the type of account you have. Agencies with private-server versions of Cxoice will have a full-set of options. Individual users will only see options for web-surveys.
Web survey with open URL link
Most simple options will be as an “Web survey with open URL link” - this uses a simple web-link that anyone can follow to reach your survey. This doesn’t require the use of a contact list, or panel connection.
Web survey via contact list
If you are using an internal contact or customer list, then you should use web survey via contact list. This allows you to upload a list of contacts together with internal data if required. Each contact gets a unique ID so that you can connect the survey responses back to the contacts and so see who has taken part and who as completed the survey.
If you click the box ‘Check IDS’, then access to the survey requires a valid ID, and each ID can only complete the survey once.
Cxoice can be used to send emails and reminders, but recent anti-spam developments make this option complicated as many services like Gmail and Outlook restrict mass emailing, and suspicion over domains means it is better to send survey invites out under a business’s own domain name. Consequently we recommend using a dedicated mailing system and to send emails from your own domain, using mail-merge to generate emails with unique IDs.
Web survey linked to a panel
More sophisticated users will want to connect Cxoice to a ‘survey panel’. This involves setting an ID identifier and links in and out of the survey. See the section on linking to a panel.
You can use Cxoice with personalised IDs, which allows you to match contact details to survey data, and to ensure that the only people taking the survey have a valid ID using the Upload sample/IDs.
Qualitative depths with screen-share (*)
Because of the richness of the question types available in Cxoice, it can be used as a qualitative platform for in-depth interviews (IDI) led by a moderator who wants to share things on-screen, while recording the respondent and their reactions.
CATI Telephone survey (*)
If you have an agency account, then you can set Cxoice to be used for telephone interviewing with a telephone interviewing team. This allows you to add interviewers, allocate sample blocks and use the contact and appointment system. See the section on CATI and WATI interviewing
WATI Telephone survey (*)
If you have an agency account, then you can set Cxoice to be used for telephone interviewing with a telephone interviewing team. This allows you to add interviewers, allocate sample blocks and use the contact and appointment system. See the section on CATI and WATI interviewing
Video assisted phone survey (**)
If you have an agency account, then you can set Cxoice to be used for telephone interviewing with a telephone interviewing team. This allows you to add interviewers, allocate sample blocks and use the contact and appointment system. See the section on CATI and WATI interviewing
Appointment manager only (*)
Cxoice can also be used in appointment only mode for managing a survey team, but with a survey hosted outside Cxoice. For instance in SNAP for client-created surveys where the survey is not created in Cxoice.
Serverless-survey (offline cumulation)
For serverless-surveys where data is collected offline, Cxoice online can be used to collate and cumulate the data together and then provide reporting
Advanced – custom script file (*)
Cxoice can be used directly from PHP scripts for full custom surveys which require more programming and more complex displays such as e-commerce mock ups. Our development team can help you with these types of survey.
Reporting only (*)
Cxoice can be used with custom datasets and datafiles for reporting only. This is useful where data is created on one system, but needs to be analysed by a different company without needing to have access to the whole survey system.

(**) Use with video or AI. If you want to use AI or video question types with Cxoice, you will need appropriate account access tokens, and from the questionnaire editor, don’t forget to set the survey display option to ‘Video’
