Saving and publishing your questionnaire
Questionnaires are stored on your web-browser (we don’t send any information to the servers unless you select ‘Publish’). To run them online as a web-survey, you need to Publish them, via the Publish button, which will take you through the process of setting up a Cxoice Online Account.
However, even if you don't have a Cxoice Online Account, you can also save your questionnaire to a local folder on your computer as a .json file, by selecting the "Save.." option. Saving locally allows you to create backups or different versions of the same questionnaire.
If you have a questionnaire that has been saved, load it into the editor again by using "Open file..." from the ‘Save/open file’ menu option to load the questionnaire back into the browser.
This means the questionnaire .json files can be shared with other people, or used for back-ups or to save old versions. And since the Cxoice Editor is open for anyone to use, multiple individuals can have access to the questionnaire without needing to have a log-in. Simply save and share the .json files as required.
For expert designers, the .json files can also be edited directly by hand, and used for version control and translations.
Export as FormApp
The questionnaire can also be saved as a FormApp or HTMLApp as an HTML and Javascript file that will run locally without needing any internet connection.
Save the HTML file to your computer, then double click on it and it will open in your browser. The FormApp/HTMLApp allows for multiple interviews to be collected, so it can be used as a tool for offline surveys.
The HTMLapp can also be uploaded to a web-server to provide standalone forms and questionnaires for things like quotation estimates, checklists or application forms without needing to run Cxoice. However, a ‘data connector’ script ad data connector question are needed to be able to capture data onto the server from the form.
Publish Online
To use a questionnaire for an online survey it needs to be Published to into your Project Workspace Area in your Cxoice Online Account. More on Project Workspace Areas later.
The Project Workspace Area includes the questionnaire, plus hosting for the survey, and contact and monitoring methods for fieldwork, together with tools for testing and reporting.
Once the survey is online it gets a web-link (URL) and can be accessed across the internet allowing it to be connected to research panels, or sent out as an email invite, or used for cloud-based phone or video surveys.
Click Publish Online and the publish wizard will take you through the process of registering for an account, and selecting an account before creating your own private Project Workspace Area where you can turn the questionnaire into a fully fledged online survey connecting the questionnaire to participants and monitoring fieldwork and collecting data.
